Mansi

There are less than one thousand people who speak Mansi language. They live mainly in the western parts of Khanty-Mansia, between Ural Mountains and River Ob. Mansi language does not have a status in Russia. Among Mansi language publications is newspaper Lūimā sēripos, published in Khanty-Mansiysk. We organized a comics workshop together with Cultural youth camp Man Uksve in Saranpaul, a village of 2500 inhabitants in March 2018. Our workshop had organisers of Man Uksve camp, teachers and museum staff from neighbouring village Sosva drawing comics in Mansi.
